With all the news about Ebola being negative I wanted to share with you some triumphs and the truths behind how they overcame it. How does this apply to us when the news in the US is still trying to scare the *$#% out of us? After all, when you understand the truth about certain things you can gain freedom, and that is a great feeling!
Nigeria has been declared Ebola free after 42 days without an outbreak! This is super news for a country that was concerned about it spreading, like wild fire, throughout the nation of 120 million.
Ebola In Nigeria – What Happened?
It all started with a single infected Liberian diplomat who arrived in July. It could not have happened in a worse place. Lagos in Nigeria is Africa’s largest city, with 21 million people. The city has a large population living in crowded and unsanitary slums. All the conditions prime for the start of an epidemic, just as in Sierra Leone.
With the swift interaction of the Nigerian government and citizens, only 20 were infected with Ebola, leaving 8 dead. The death rate is way below the 70% levels that the news has been shouting. And now the country has been declared Ebola free!
How Did Nigeria Get Ebola Free?
Nigeria did what made sense! First, they tracked down everyone that came in contact with Ebola; infected people, and quarantined them. Next they did something that we all know should be done when dealing with vomiting and diarrhea, administer lots of fluids. I know this seems like something we would do automatically, but it is just now being related after the success in Nigeria.
Dr. Simon Mardel, a leading expert in viral hemorrhagic fevers, is quoted as saying, the number of deaths could be cut in half if infected people were taught to properly hydrate themselves and to not take anti-inflammatory drugs, which can actually harm Ebola victims.
This is exactly what was done in the treatment of Ebola infected people in Nigeria. 1.3 gallons of water, mixed with sugar and salt was given daily to patients. They were told to sip the water constantly throughout the day to stay hydrated. Those in the medical community are amazed that something so simple helped so much and so quickly.
Mardel, of Britain’s University Hospital of South Manchester, called rehydration a low-tech approach that has been neglected by a medical system focused on groundbreaking research.
Interesting…
Water… Are We Lacking?
What is amazing to me is that the medical community is taken aback that someone would drink over a gallon of water a day. Personally, I drink a gallon daily and more depending on what activities I am doing. When I talk to people about eating better, water is the first item we discuss. It is a simple fact; if we are over 85% water, what should we consume the most of daily? Yup, WATER!
How do we expect our body to function the best it can when it is most often in a state of dehydration? I have been telling people to drink water for years especially when fighting sickness, read more here, Water, Easy Health Change. Often I get comments such as “I don’t like water”, or “It is to hard to remember to drink it”. All this kinda makes me glad that we don’t have a choice when it comes to breathing.
Where Do We Stand With Ebola?
It appears Ebola is on the down trend and we have proven ways to fight it. Have you heard about this great news about fighting Ebola on your local TV? NO, and more than likely you will not. Simple acts such as quarantining and giving lots of water do not make the dollars or grab attention. But some expensive new drug or treatment hits the headlines often! Now, however, you are aware and know the facts. Remember what facts (the truth), does for us? Hint, if you don’t remember scroll to the top and read the first paragraph. 🙂
What You Can Do!
Ebola may be going behind us, but this is the start of flu and cold season. With more people dieing of these viruses yearly than of the Ebola virus, you may want to prepare. Start by taking matters into your own hands, “If you want something done you have to do it yourself.”
May I suggest drinking some water? Review Water, Easy Health Change, for some ideas on how to make it work for you. Read about boosting your immune system, Viruses, Immune System, Secret Improvements. What about eating foods rich in nutrition and/or probiotics, such as lacto-fermented vegetables and sourdough baked items? I come across people all the time that are amazed that no one in my family takes any type of drugs, and that we don’t have sick days.
We are all busy in our lives, but we make time for the important things, right?
Is there a way I can post this on my Facebook? Everyone should know this. I have also been sharing the importance of water and had pretty much the same response. It doesn’t taste like Coke….thank goodness! But neither does it have the same side effects, as a matter of fact water is mostly all good unless you stick your head in it for too long!!!
Sandra, haha that is so true!
Yes you can post it on Facebook. You should be able to do so by using the share buttons at the bottom of the article. Just click the little Facebook icon 🙂
