Refreshing “Fresh Fruit” Slushies

Slushies are great on a warm day, but commercial slushies you’d buy at the corner mart are full of refined sugars like high fructose corn syrup. These slushies on the other hand are not. They are sweetened with fresh fruit and Stevia, so they are great for you! And you can make just about any flavor, or even a combination of flavors. (I’ve listed a few of our favorite combos below.) If desired, you can also use frozen fruit instead of fresh, but will probably need to use less ice and/or a little more water. If you have a Vita-mix, leave the peels on your fruits that have an edible peel (such as apples), as they add extra vitamins and nutrients.

Strawberry

Banana

Blueberry

Raspberry

Apple

  • 1 large apple, peeled cored and cut into chunks (can leave peel on if using Vita-mix)
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1/4 cup unfiltered apple juice or water, plus more if needed
  • several drops NuNaturals Pure Liquid™ Clear Stevia™, to taste

Apple-Cranberry

  • 1 small apple, peeled cored and cut into chunks (can leave peel on if using Vita-mix)
  • 1/4 cup frozen cranberries, optional (make a great addition, if you have them)
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1/4 cup unfiltered apple juice or water
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • several drops NuNaturals Pure Liquid™ Clear Stevia™, to taste

Apple-Raspberry

  • 1 small apple, peeled cored and cut into chunks (can leave peel on if using Vita-mix)
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries, washed
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1/4 cup unfiltered apple juice or water
  • several drops NuNaturals Pure Liquid™ Clear Stevia™, to taste

Place all ingredients, except stevia, into blender container and process until combined and slushy. Add stevia a few drops at a time, pulsing in-between additions, until desired sweetness is achieved.

Makes 1-large or 2-smaller drinks.
